SALT Outreach Inc. and Build & Restore are excited to partner with ASI National to provide a local mission trip experience before the conference. The ASI Local Mission experience will happen between July 31, 2022 through August 3, 2022. Registration opens on-site for ASI on August 3, 2022 and the convention runs through August 6, 2022.
Mission Trip Experience #1 - SALT Outreach Inc.
SALT Outreach Inc. is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization which operates a mobile drop-in center for the unsheltered, five days per week, serving around 200 people per day. For this mission experience, ASI attendees will "take over" the outreach, and will be trained and supervised by SALT Staff. Volunteers will assist with facilitating showers through SALT's shower trailer, Laundry services through SALT's laundry trailer, help with registration for services, and help to offer eight other services/resources to our friends experiencing homelessness. You may also help with some background tasks like sorting clothing, donations, making snap bags, complete surveys, help with worship, prayer, and more!

Mission Trip Experience #2 - Build & Restore International
Build & Restore International is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization whose mission is to organize volunteers in service all around the world and to help restore and build churches, schools, orphanages, residences, and the like to improve their overall quality of life physically and spiritually. This year they are partnering with ASI to help "Build & Restore" the Christian Service Center of Central Florida.
The Christian Service Center of Central Florida's mission is to prevent homelessness, combat poverty, cultivate self-sufficiency, restore hope and glorify God through the faithful provision of services that directly address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs for families and individuals who are struggling in Central Florida. They currently house at least eight other nonprofit organizations including SALT Outreach on their property. Throughout the day over 400 people come through the property to access services from one of the nonprofits on site.
They are needing help with building gates and fences, painting, and landscaping. Build & Restore will be training and leading while the Christian Service Center will be providing the supplies needed for the work to be done.

Below you can sign up for a shift! For SALT Outreach each day is divided into a morning and afternoon shifts, except for Wednesday where there is just a morning shift available. Sign up for as many shifts, on as many days as you like! Some may want to do all four days, some may want to do several days and shifts, and others may only be able to do one or two shifts. Each shift starts with a first time orientation and training. After you have completed the orientation and training once you do not need to complete it again. We do have security on site and we do have volunteer opportunities for children.
After orientation and training each group will be split up into volunteer roles. Volunteer roles vary from helping with registration, helping to clean and place people in the shower trailer, helping with laundry services, helping prepare snack bags, helping sort clothing, helping to hand out clothing, helping complete surveys, and other tasks that may be associated with the building we operate out of. We will also have a series of messages/services going on for our friends experiencing homelessness. Anyone who is willing to help with worship or pray with our friends. We will be sending a group email two weeks before the event date with additional information in preparation for the mission experience!

For Build & Restore, the sign up includes Sunday evening through Wednesday morning. Sunday evening there will be an Orientation at 7pm and each day will start at 8am and end at 4:30pm. Training and supplies will all be provided.
